The result of combining the ancient technique from Ravenna with a contemporary, digitalized resolution and a linear laying method is an exciting rift. The effect of the mosaic as medium is opposite that of photography. Looking at the piece from distance creates sharpness, from close-up, the image dissolves and blurs, turning into a moving, relief-like, painterly plane.
